Center for Artifical Intelligence in Medicine
Description
The Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine is a research, teaching and translation platform for medical technology that employs AI to deliver better care to patients and facilitate the work of doctors and nurses. CAIM capitalizes on the unique constellation in Bern that joins players from the scientific, healthcare and industry domains. It was inaugurated in January 2021 as Center of the University of Bern’s medical faculty and the Inselspital Bern/Bern University Hospital in partnership with the University Psychiatry Services (UPD) and sitem-insel, the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine.
CAIM connects engineers, physicians, and scientists active in AI in Medicine and fosters industry collaboration, AI technology commercialization and start-up incubation. Its close partnership of researchers and clinicians enables a rapid translation of research results into novel diagnostic, treatment, and intervention technologies. By bundling transdisciplinary know-how from the Bern Biomedical Engineering Network, CAIM promotes and expands projects dedicated to the potential of AI technology for healthcare and transmits knowledge to a new generation of doctors and engineers.Groups
